First-time buyers, enjoying their new home, find that the right Realtor makes all the difference Posted on 7/13/2009 9:21:57 PM RE/MAX ALL-PRO : “They cared about what we needed and worked hard to see that we obtained the home that we wanted.” First-time homebuyers, Richard Van Gilder and Barbara Edmonds, wanted to buy their first home, knew that now was a particularly good time to buy, but had limited luck with the first real estate agent they dealt with. Then, they found a house listed with Realtor Kent Steffes, of RE/MAX All-Pro, and their luck changed for the better.
“The difference in the two real estate companies’ professionalism was incredible,” said Richard and Barbara. “The first individual we contacted was like a used-car salesman,” Richard said. “He was really pushy and not at all helpful. Then, when we began to deal with Kent Steffes and Darlene Carter, their tremendous professionalism and service-oriented philosophy really made
the difference. They cared about what we needed and worked hard to see that we obtained the home that we wanted.”
Richard is of Dutch/German descent. His grandparents emigrated to the United States after World War II and both worked for Lockheed (back when it was in Van
Nuys) and they helped develop many U.S. aircraft at the Skunkworks. Born in Panorama City and raised in the Simi Valley/Camarillo area, Richard went to school there and graduated from Camarillo High School. Barbara went to Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard and she operates a home business.
Richard is a Facilities Engineer with Weco Aircraft in Valencia, which is located across from Magic Mountain, and he has a long commute – some 42 miles one way.
Eight-year residents of the Antelope Valley, Richard and Barbara said they were very pleased with the professional service that RE/MAX All-Pro’s Kent Steffes
and Darlene Carter provided. “Kent Steffes was very supportive and helpful,” said Richard, “a guy doing his job and doing it very well. And Darlene Carter, is such a phenomenal person – we just can’t speak highly enough about what a wonderful job she did for us.”
